Seven months!?!? Matty and I just can't believe it! We've had such an exciting last month, too! Gabriel now has 5 teeth and 2 more just starting to make their presence known. With the excitement of the new teeth, we've also had our share of illness over the last 30 days. We had our first 3 am phone call to the triage nurse on 10/17. Gabe picked up a stomach virus from daycare on Wednesday so we stayed home with him on Thursday and he appeared to be doing much better. Well, the virus stuck around and I ended up with it Friday morning, Matty ended up with it Friday afternoon and Gabe picked it up AGAIN Friday evening. So there we were, the three of us with fevers and a terrible stomach virus trying to decided if we should just throw in the towel and call 911...it's funny now but it wasn't at the time!!! However, we made it through the night by rocking the baby and getting bits of sleep. We took Gabe into the Dr's on Saturday morning and were told it had to run its course...oh and yah, it's a stomach virus with upper respiratory side effects! So, Gabe also had a runny nose and hacking cough...poor baby!! But, we're all recovered now so life is good!
We hope everyone is doing well and will check back often. With love from our family to yours!

Giggling with daddy!
Walk in the park!
On Sunday, after we recovered from the terrible 24 hour stomach virus (or in Gabe's case, 2 separate 24 hour bugs in one long weekend), we decided to take a walk at Bass Lake park in Holly Springs, NC. It was cold, or at least cold for NC so we bundled up the baby who was busy trying to eat the running stroller (thanks Uncle Mike and Aunt Leesa for letting us borrow it)! Though my baby looks adorable, I have to say chicks with short hair shouldn't wear visor's

No way!
what I meant to say...

How smart am I?
in the bumbo
who's that doggy in the window?
This is the sad reality in our household...Gabriel gazing lovingly at the dog while Boo gazes lovingly at us! But, Gabe is determined to catch Boo's attention and now that he's starting to eat some messy solids, Boo is finally starting to see him as a little person...or potential "giver of treats"

6 months old!
Gabriel is 6 months old! Can you believe it? Time really zooms by when you're having fun! So, as you can tell from the pictures, Gabriel has moved on to solids and he's loving every orange, green and yellow bite! He's hungry...look at him, he's starving! So far we've experimented with sweet potatoes and green beans. He's tolerant of the beans and tried to eat the glass jar of the potatoes. Also, we're getting yet another tooth making the count 3. This newest tooth is an "eye tooth" and shouldn't really be the next tooth. I can just envision the orthodontic bills when he turns 12! But things here are good and Gabriel seems to be getting on well. He really enjoys daycare and thinks Ms. Joyce and Ms. Pam are as cool as Boo Bear (which is high kudos from a 6 month old)! That's all for now so take care and check back often!

It's a mystery!
Clue #3
2 minutes before bath time...

Take a look!
If you're wondering why there's no rhyme or reason to the order of these pictures, then you must not have children! Those with children understand that you have ZERO braincells post-3rd trimester! So, there's a lot of postings in no particular order though I have tried to put a date with the picture. Enjoy!
Where'd he go?

Boy, do we match!

First trip to the beach!
Our first trip to the beach as a family! The entire Wherry/Caplin/misc family vacationed at Emerald Isle, NC in July. Since we miss everyone terribly, we decided to join them for the day! It was awesome and Gabe really enjoyed meeting Karen and Chris for the first time. It was a little too hot to enjoy the beach so maybe next summer! (July 20, 2008)

I love my teeth!
bouncing with daddy
These are two of my favorite things! For anyone whoever doubted that bouncers were a parent's bestfriend! Gabriel absoultely digs his Fisher Price Jungle Jumparoo...especially when daddy starts singing "Jump Around" by House of Pain. Gabe goes crazy in this and when he gets tired, he lays his head down on the tray until he gets his second wind. It's really just too cute.
Our first blog
Welcome to our family blog! Matthew and I've been talking about doing this for some time but we always seem to have more important priorities...namely Gabriel! But with so many family members out of state, I've decided to take the time and create a website where everyone can watch Gabriel grow!
